Personal Support
We understand that the survey process can be difficult. That’s why steps will be taken to ensure that every participant receives appropriate support during their session.
On-site Personal Support
During the survey sessions, every effort will be made to ensure that participants are able to access the support they need:
- Participants will be able to undertake the survey at their own pace;
- Participants will be able to request a break at any time in the survey;
- Participants will be able to skip questions if they are not comfortable providing an answer;
- Participants can ask for clarification or additional information at any time during the survey;
- If participants are uncomfortable with the Interviewer (for reasons such as age, gender, kinship, or community) they can request a different Interviewer and the team will do their best to accommodate;
- Participants can ask that the survey be conducted in their preferred language - interpretation will be available in Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun;
- Community team leaders, Elder Support and Wellness Support will be available to survey participants during the survey;
- Following the conclusion of the survey, participants will be provided with materials that list local wellness supports in their communities should they require them days or weeks following the data collection;
- If participants would like to withdraw from the survey, they can request that their information be deleted from the survey database within 25 years of participation. Once the overall results (combined data) are published (approximately 6-12 months), it will not be possible to withdraw participant information from any published reports or materials.
